Patterns

Sibylle Czichon

Alessandro Albanese Gallery, Milan is pleased to present "Patterns", the second solo exhibition, in the gallery and in Italy, of the young German artist Sibylle Czichon, born in 1989, curated by Domenico de Chirico. The exhibition has been hosted at the Matera exhibition center.

Sibylle Czichon's pictorial gesture has a character with a strongly ambivalent flavor, the gentleness of the stroke reflects, in fact, both her gestural fullness and her complexity of the plot, given, in turn, by a whirling interweaving of different aspects that all come together at the moment of the pictorial act, thus constituting a true choreographic system. Czichon's approach to the canvas is indeed constituted by four fundamental and persistent aspects that can constitute a sort of paradigm, which, however, is never the same and functions as such only if one considers its inductive character, that is, strongly empirical and in continuous becoming. These constitutive aspects are certainly space, time, body and matter.
